A website does not need to be updated constantly to stay useful. It needs a simple cadence: a few things quarterly, a few things monthly, and one or two things that are always current.
Always-on: the essentials
Some things on the site should never be out of date, no matter what:
- Phone number, email, and brokerage information.
- License number and required disclosures.
- Your current headshot and one-line positioning statement.
Monthly: light, high-signal updates
Once a month, publish one short market note or update one neighborhood guide with a fresh data point. This is enough to keep the site visibly current and to give search engines a reason to revisit.
Quarterly: the meaningful work
- Add or refresh one full neighborhood guide.
- Review testimonials and add any new ones from the last quarter.
- Check every internal link, form, and email address on the site.
- Refresh the home page if positioning, focus areas, or specialties have shifted.
Annually: the audit
Once a year, read every page as if you were a prospective client. Rewrite anything that sounds dated, remove anything that no longer reflects how you work, and refresh photography if your visual presence has drifted.
